I really liked this book. It took me a while to adapt to the authors' style but once I had done that, I was taken in by the story. Kudos to Darryl Brock for so thoroughly researching the way things were in the various cities in America, circa 1869. His attention to details of the period in general and of the cities of Cincinnati and San Francisco in particular were quite impressive.
