Relation During Books The Mother-Daughter Book Club (The Mother-Daughter Book Club #1)
The book clubis about to get
a makeover....
Even if Megan would rather be at the mall, Cassidy is late for hockey practice, Emma's already read every book in existence, and Jess is missing her mother too much to care, the new book club is scheduled to meet every month.
But what begins as a mom-imposed ritual of reading Little Women soon helps four unlikely friends navigate the drama of middle school. From stolen journals, to secret crushes, to a fashion-fiasco first dance, the girls are up to their Wellie boots in drama. They can't help but wonder: What would Jo March do?
Acclaimed author Heather Vogel Frederick will delight daughters of all ages in a novel about the fabulousness of fiction, family, and friendship.

I personally strongly enjoyed this book at the START.I felt that I could connect and understand the characters , I really felt like I was part of the group ! The girls were all unique and wonderful , each known for something different. The mothers were loving, understanding and generous ( but arent all mothers )! đŸ˜‚During moments I could empathise and feel sorry for the girls like when Emmas diary was read aloud at the hockey game . In other parts I was almost bonding around the room with joyMiddle school dramaaaaa đŸ˜‚I loved how they have the girls develop healthier relationships with their moms during this whole book. Only bad part: I hated how the girls treated those who were mean to them. I hate the mean girl attitudes back toward the mean girls.
This book/series is really good!! I've read all the books, and now I'm rereading them because I forgot what happened. It is good for readers who like realistic fiction and drama.

2 1/2. I don't particularly like giving half ratings - but it does describe my feelings for this book. I came really close to liking it . . . but it ended up being more "okay." It was clever how the authoress paralleled this story to Little Women and it definitely stirred up a lot of nostalgia for one of my favorite books. It also gave me a great desire to visit Concord - what a fascinating place!I did find the girl's behavior absurd and considering how young they were. I had forgotten how old
This book is so cute! Although the chapters are very episodic, leading to abrupt time jumps, I love the idea of the club and all the characters are great, though Emma and Jess are my favorites. Emma because she's shy and geeky and loves to write, and I love her family SO MUCH and was sorely disappointed at first when I realized the whole book would not be from her perspective, and Jess because I love both her dad and her wonderful organic farm with all its animals, and because her mom's absence
This book is the first book of the Mother Daughter Book Club and i loved it. This book follows four girls Cassidy(The Tomboy), Emma(The Writer), Jess(The Animal lover), and Megan (The Fashionista) and their lives starting 6th grade and being in a book club started by the girls mothers while in yoga class. This book was very cute and was very easy for me to get into. I just started high school so i was having some of the same feelings these girls were having their first day. Overall I will give
I like the concept of the series, and the book was enjoyable, but there were several times when I felt that the voice of the various pre-teens just did not ring quite true. They did, in fact, read too much like an adult writing what was happening, rather than a teen's thinking or speaking. I know that, for instance, the character Emma, being a bright girl and a big reader, would speak with a larger vocabulary than many 12-year-olds, but the particular word selections & turns of phrase just
