In 'An Accidental Affair', the first book of the series, gorgeous Scottish CEO Stuart Watson tries to convince Lily to explore the dynamic between them, despite her fear of being hurt. He woos her with such determination that she accedes, and the time they spend together is magical.

Now that Lily and Stuart are back in the Pacific Northwest things become far more complicated, removed as they are from the idyll of Scotland. Circumstances conspire to drive a wedge between them and cause Lily to question her decision to pursue a relationship with him. Stuart's ex-wife, Megan, surfaces and tries to insinuate her way back into his life and his affections, while an adversary threatens his hold on Watson & Dickson as well as Lily’s safety. A surprise admission by Stuart adds an extra depth to their relationship. The publicity surrounding their involvement causes unexpected fractures at her work, and an old love re-enters the picture, intent on gaining a second chance to win Lily’s heart.

Criticize Regarding Books Step Across the Rubicon (Liliana Batchelor #2)
WOW intenseSo many emotions come alive for me. I do not trust men, and so I am right there with Lily. Everything she does and feels, I have felt. I keep at the edge of my seat for him to become abusive. Such a relief for me that that hasn't happened. I am so loving these characters and learning about a life I did not k ow existed. So exciting, I am off for the next book.

This story was not as good as the first book. I thought the h was very immature. Every time she was mad at the H she would run away in secret while he frantically looked for her. I also thought the dungeon scenes were bad, not sexy at all. Plus, the H wearing tight leather pants and leather thongs around his biceps was silly and very unattractive. There were a few similarities to FSoG but I didn't mind. Food was still gross in this one as well.

Shock and awe. Wow. The lovemaking between Stuart an Liliana is sizzling. Their relationship - when its good its exceptional but Stuart scares me when he's in "the room". The BDSM makes me uncomfortable - Lil's subservience makes me cringe but essential to the story. Now Lil has put distance between her and Stuart will their relationship survive the tests? Can't wait to read the final book.

I had forgotten just how good this series was so I'm pleased to be rediscovering them all before reading the final instalment. I just adore Lily and Stuart, they're perfect together with his intensity and strength and her insecurities which he tries to help her with. Can't wait to start book 3.
