Representaion Concering Books Undone

Jem Halliday is in love with her best friend. It doesn't matter that Kai is gay, or that he'll never look at her the way she looks at him. Jem is okay with that. But when Kai is outed online by one of their classmates, he does the unthinkable and commits suicide.

Jem is left to pick up the pieces of her broken life. Before he died, Kai left her twelve letters—one for each month of the year—and those letters are all Jem has left. That, and revenge.

Although Kai's letters beg her not to investigate what happened, Jem can't let it go. She needs to know who did this, and she'll stop at nothing to find the person responsible for Kai's death. One way or another, someone is going down. Someone is going to pay.

OMFG.....

It would have been 4 stars but that ending did a fair share of damage.I did not expect to like this story. I have little sympathy for suicide as a general rule since the choice is almost always in the moment over the current drama of life. But reading this was for a challenge so I dove in. And found I really liked the story and the writing style! I really wish Kai did not off himself. He seems like such a great guy based on the letters he sends. He knew Jem well. Although for a guy about to kill

While Undone is undoubtedly an accomplished story, what sets it apart from contemporary contempories is the level of writing. Cat Clarke has a preternatural ability to create authentic teenage voices to the point that one might suspect some sort of voodoo channeling shenanigans at her writing desk. Jems raw, ravenous grief pours of the page, the black selfishness of all consuming loss palpable and, at times, incredibly difficult to read. The many scenes set at school will speak loudly to anyone

Really good book. So many twists. Don't read it if you're under the age of 13!It is also very heartbreaking so be prepared to cry.

Trigger warning: Bullying, suicide

OH GOD WHY??? why did I read this...this.. i don't even know what to call it! abomination?piece of useless f*cking bullsh*t?this may be able to capture a fraction of what i'm feeling: [image error] why would Cat Clarke waste her amazingly awesome writing skills on this? i have read her other books and loved them and i thought i'd love this too....i was SO wrong=_______= this book, its just wrong!!it makes zero logic. i really really REALLY hope her next book will not be like this

For your chance to win an ARC of this title (UK only) or a paperback of your choice (INT) visit my blog It has taken me a long time to write this review because I have struggled to figure out what I want to say. Put simply I found this book gut wrenching, it was emotional, shocking and heart-breaking.Undone tackles a whole host of series subjects such as suicide and bullying and does so with great respect. Cat Clarke is an amazing storyteller and a brilliant writer. I truly commend her for
