Amy Bartol, you have taken over all rational thought with your new series. If there is such thing as reader's Stockholm Syndrome, then Amy was my captor and I had a serious case of it because this book hurt but I loved every minute of the bittersweet pain. An earthquake would have trouble making me put this book down.It started off averagely, a bit like Intuition did IMO, but then average for Amy Bartol is pretty stellar on the scale of YA book plots. Revie are finally together again and theGotta say! I couldn't wait for this book to get here! Loved it just as much as the first two, and though I missed the memo on there being a fourth book, I'm glad that I'm not saying goodbye to all the wonderful characters just yet. I truly haven't read a YA series like this one. Its full of jam-packed imagination and wicked creatures galore! Where does one get so many ideas and learn to mesh them together so well? Amy Bartol knows, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for the fourth
Three books into this series, and Amy Bartol still manages to completely enthrall, crush, and disturb me with her incomparably unique and fascinating world!! I don't know how she manages to come up with all of this, but I'm SO glad she decided to put it all into a story! I've been in love with these characters since the minute I met them, and I continue to be unable to pull myself away from their journey. 4,5 Stars Remind me to never make the mistake of waiting MONTHS to continue reading a series, and thinking "Oh so what, I'll read a few summaries and it'll be ok." I forgot about half the things that happened, and only remembered stuff about halfway through the book. Bad habit that I need to get rid of. I love this series! A lot of the reviews state that these books keep getting better and that is very true. Fast paced, can't put the book down action. Raw, intense, primal interactions between the angels is so damn hot! The author also brilliantly eases you, book by book, into their world. By book #3, yes-- portals, demons with creature skins suits, magic, mermaids.... it is all acceptable now. It all makes total sense in their world. Team Reed.
