Commentary Toward Books Born in Death (In Death #23)
Eve Dallas has a grisly double homicide to solve when two young lovers—both employees of the same prestigious accounting firm—are brutally killed on the same night. It doesn't leave Eve a lot of leftover time to put together a baby shower for her buddy Mavis, but that's supposedly what friends are for.Now Mavis needs another favor. Tandy Willowby, one of the moms-to-be in Mavis's birthing class, didn't show up for the shower. A recent emigrant from London, Tandy has few friends in New York, and no family—and she was really looking forward to the party. And when Eve enters Tandy's apartment and finds a gift for Mavis's shower wrapped and ready on the table—and a packed bag for the hospital still on the floor next to it—tingling runs up and down her spine.
Normally, such a case would be turned over to Missing Persons. But Mavis wants no one else on the job but Eve—and Eve can't say no. She'll have to track Tandy down while simultaneously unearthing the deals and double-crosses hidden in the files of some of the city's richest and most secretive citizens, in a race against this particularly vicious killer. Luckily, her multimillionaire husband Roarke's expertise comes in handy with the number crunching. But as he mines the crucial data that will break the case wide open, Eve faces an all too real danger in the world of flesh and blood.

Loved this one...Roarke and Eve's horror over Mavis's request and the two cases happening at the same time#book23 and still so good! Yup, I'm loving this series a lot!!! ❤❤❤ Ta cion agam ort. With his body warm and pressed to hers he murmured it. "I love you" Eve thought, in Gaelic. Knowing he used it when it mattered most to him, she smiled. ❤❤❤
Suspense 4.5 stars / Romance 4.5 starsAs always interesting and captivating. The story got an unexpected turn. Loved Eve's strength. Thanks God they saved the last victim. Romance. It was good except for their 'fight'. Did I tell that I admire Eve? *lol* She is a very wise woman. Hard, yes, unapologetic, yes, but extremely devoted and just amazing! I get that Roarke and Eve are not fond of kids, but it was a bit ott.Bella Eve, welcome to the family! đŸ‘ªNevertheless and despite everything, Eve is a

I don't think we've ever seen Eve quite so out of her depth before but trying to organise Mavis' baby shower taker her completely out of her comfort zone. Especially when she has to go into a baby store looking for a present! One of the reasons I love this series so much is that there is a lot of humour mixed in amongst the death and murder. The friendship between Eve and Mavis has always been fab but it's been even better since Mavis asked Eve and Roarke to be her birthing coaches. The two are
Third Read: Technology has advanced in 2060 New York City, but childbirth has been the same since the beginning of time. And despite the brutal double homicide homicide on Lieutenant Eve Dallas' Caseload she has to be there for her pregnant and best friend, Mavis, even if it means throwing the dreaded baby shower. But Mavis needs an even bigger favor now. Tandy Willowby, one of the moms-to-be in her class, has gone missing, just days before her due date--not even showing up at the shower at Eve
Once again no time for a proper review which stinks because I absolutely LOVE this series. This installment was another solid read but I will say it started off a bit slow for me which is something new. To be honest I think it was just me and my mood.I continue to adore Eve and Roarke. I love that J.D. weaves the typical life stuff that they have to deal with into the stories. For Eve it was the planning of a baby shower that was sending her for a loop and for Roarke it was the fact that he had
Another totally enjoyable In Death episode, cleverly titled Born in Death since birth is as important as death in this story. At last Mavis has arrived at the final stage of her pregnancy and Rourke and Eve have to face up to being present at the birth. With so much else going on it is amazing that they actually make it. This is a book packed with deaths, disappearances and other crimes, so much so that I was beginning to get totally confused.Luckily Eve manages to stay in control and solve
